The action, which was scheduled to start on 19 August and continue every subsequent Tuesday, was announced last week to protest at the loss of between 10 and 19 library and copy-taking jobs.
GPMU Glasgow branch secretary David Munro said relations between the chapel and management had improved and that the number of compulsory redundancies had been whittled down to eight. Chapel members are a bit more relaxed about the situation they dont feel as overlooked, said Munro.
The union had said members were concerned that the companys plans to centralise its library would dilute the Scottishness of the Daily Record and Sunday Mail newspapers.
