Document Outsourcing expands into England

Document Outsourcing is opening a second office in a bid to grab a bigger share of the market for on-demand letters such as debt-collection and local authority bills.

The 57-staff company, based just outside Glasgow opened a site in Warrington, Cheshire, last week, kitted out with a Xerox DocuTech 180 and a Kern 2000 press along with three staff.

"The set-up is based on the M6 and M62, which is great for transport links and has close proximity to an inbound mail centre," said managing director Colin Rutherford.

"This enables customers to make postal savings. In a shrinking market, we are pleased to be expanding our business model."

Document Outsourcing intends to open a third base in Birmingham within a year, as part of plans to increase turnover by around 38% to £9m in the next two years.

"We target people that mail nationally and analyse the print distribution profile. Debt is fairly urban and we want to capitalise on the best postal rates for debt collectors.

"We can do this by printing and injecting mail in close proximity to the final point of delivery," Rutherford added.
