Represented by Mutoh Europe for the EMEA territory, the manufacturer said the XpertJet 1462UF is a CMYK plus white and varnish UV LED printer with moving gantry. The device has a print bed of 1,470x740mm and a print area of 1,420x700mm.

Mutoh said it is offering the printer with new generation soft UV LED inks compatible with a broad range of substrates and free of any SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern) ingredients.

The device is an extension to Mutoh’s existing XPJ-461UF (A3+) and XPJ-661UF (A2+) direct-to-object desktop UV LED printer models.

The printer has an integrated multi-zone vacuum bed and is equipped with two piezo drop-on-demand printheads mounted in a staggered setup.

The first head will print CMYK, the second head white and varnish, which enables two-layer printing or braille and 2.5D structure prints without speed loss. Fast curing is enabled by two new 4-inch-wide UV LED lamps.

Mutoh marketing department manager Nick Decock told Printweek: “The machine is particularly suited for screen printers, pad printers and digital print businesses looking into direct printing and volume personalisation of a wide variety of objects and industrial items up to a height of 150mm.

“Since the 1462UF can print both CMYK and white/varnish in one pass, high speed and high quality bi-directional printing is possible.”

Giving an example of the bed size, he added that a user could load and print 81 iPhone 14 covers at once.

The XpertJet 1462UF will become available in the EMEA business area during autumn this year.
