StudioRIP eyes Chinese expansion

Low-cost RIP developer StudioRIP has appointed a dealer in China and translated its software to allow operation by native Chinese speakers as it targets "significant growth" in the region over the next 12 months.

The company has appointed Euramtech (Shenzhen) as its official StudioRIP dealer in China, while further appointments have been made covering the Philippines and South Korea.

StudioRIP managing director Darren Eliot said: "We are delighted to be in a position to make waves in the huge Chinese printing market.

"The qualities of our RIP product and its presence in markets around the world have both been significant aids in enabling us to create stronger ties with Chinese companies, but it was an essential ingredient to translate the StudioRIP operational instructions in order to have a successful product for the Chinese market.

"While we had a number of companies to talk to, Euramtech proved to be the stand-out choice due to its strong capabilities in the software market and significant pre-press knowledge and understanding. We are looking forward to a period of significant growth for StudioRIP in the Far East during the course of the next 12 months."

StudioRIP is compatible with PostScript Level 3 and PDF 1.7, and is suitable for interfacing with a wide range of CTP systems, imagesetters, inkjet presses, laser printers, and all known direct imaging presses, including those from KBA, Heidelberg, Adast, Presstek and Ryobi.

The StudioRIP Workflow Edition can be configured around a user’s needs, with the inclusion of post-RIP imposition, in-RIP trapping, ink duct control software, second order stochastic screening (hybrid AM screening included as standard), TIFF output, multiple print engine output, and digital proofing output.

StudioRIP Client software can provide for remote operation of all RIP functions from any PC or Mac workstation.
