Prism adds member services and announces autumn conference

UK wide-format printing trade association Prism has extended its range of member services and revealed details of its 2009 conference, which will take place in October.

New services include free telephone support covering technical, legal and environmental issues provided by a number of expert consultancies.

Prism director Peter Kiddell said: "We've increased the product offering to give more value to our members."

The conference Our Way, The Right Way, will be held on 1 October at the Holiday Inn Luton.

Topics include successfully combining digital and screen print, how a small firm can grow in the face of overseas competition and the recession, the environment, large format textile printing, and how to thrive in an economic slowdown.

Speakers include Simpson Group chairman Mark Simpson, consultant Paul Machin, PDS Consulting managing director Peter Kiddell and Andreas Skantze of Big Image.

Bookings received before the 14 August are eligible for a £50 discount on the £149 price for Prism members and the £249 price for non-members.

Prism is also planning to follow up on a successful round table debate run in June with a second event before the end of this year.

Following on from discussions at the first debate about how members could share capabilities had since led to several joint ventures according to Kiddell. He added that Prism, which is the UK association representing Fespa, ran the round tables under "Chatham House rules", guaranteeing anonymity for participants to ensure the most frank exchange of information and opinion.
