Polyprint brings services in-house with bag-making buy

Mailing film and envelope manufacturer Polyprint Mailing Films (PMF) has brought its bag-making services in-house with the purchase of a Hudson Sharpe machine.

According to the Norfolk-based £7.5m-turnover company, the "substantial" investment increases capacity at the 60-staff business, as well as providing a more flexible service for customers.

The 5750WJ model was installed a few weeks ago and converts polythene film from a reel into a self-seal envelope. It is used as a mailing tool for magazines, brochure and other printed material that was previously outsourced.

PMF managing director John Neville said: "This is a large investment, but we wanted to be able to deliver this service in-house. It means we can offer a more competitive service, as well as a quicker turnaround, and we can be more flexible in meeting clients’ needs."
