Premier Communications (Peterborough) has been sold in a pre-pack sale to a new company after hitting the buffers last month.

Rehan Ahmed and Jeremy Woodside were appointed as joint administrators of the business on 30 April.

Premier Communications (Peterborough) was established in 1999, and had sales of £4.2m in 2023 according to Quantuma.

It offered a range of services including print, direct mail, multichannel marketing, and marketing communications.

Quantuma said that “due to a series of challenging circumstances”, including cost pressures and reduction in client budgets during the Covid-19 pandemic, the firm had suffered cashflow issues and had been unable to restructure outside of a formal insolvency process.

The subsequent pre-pack sale has seen 17 employees transfer to the buyer, PremCom UK, under TUPE.

Ahmed commented: “I am very pleased to have achieved such a positive outcome for this well-established business, ensuring that 17 employees' jobs have been saved.

“We are delighted to have secured the long-term viability of the business, allowing it to continue its journey whilst supported by a buyer with the ability to take Premier Communications forwards. We wish the team every success in their next chapter.”

Premier Communications had been owned by directors Marco Poli and Vincenza Poli.

They are not listed as directors of the new company.

PremCom UK’s directors are: Owen Bennett, Martin Horsman, Mark Rathore, Julian Webb, and Philip Worrall.

They are also directors of the controlling entity, Smrt Group Holdings.

Further details were unavailable at the time of writing, pending the filing of administration reports.

Editor's note: Neither business is connected to Ascot-based digital media agency Premier Communications, which trades as PremComms.
