Overmatter: trolling the trolls

Well-known Arsenal fan Piers Morgan, the man so many people seem to love to hate (Overmatter cannot imagine why) seems to have met his match in the face of wildly popular Harry Potter author JK Rowling.

The two have something of an ongoing Twitter spat, although Rowling appeared to have, shall we say, ‘trumped’ Morgan with a recent post highlighting a flattering piece of journalism about herself, much to Morgan’s derision. It turned out to have been written by – you guessed it – Morgan himself.

The Daily Mail columnist and Good Morning Britain host also claimed not to have read any Harry Potter books. BIG mistake. Enter the Big Green Bookshop of Wood Green in London, which has decided to retaliate by tweeting Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone at Morgan, line-by-line.

At the time of typing the bookshop had reached line 643 of 32,567: “Harry shuffled miserably off into the kitchen and by the time he got back, the mail had arrived,” while the bookshop’s followers had jumped to almost 23,000.

The book also includes an absolute gift in the shape of a character called Piers… this could take some time.
