Agfa teamed up with Belgian street artist DZIA on the design, to celebrate 20 years of Anapurna printers.
Leeds-based Digital Plus signed for its new 3.2m wide Ciervo at the Berlin show.
The hybrid printer prints in six colours plus white, and has UV LED curing.
Sales director David Brisk told Printweek: “It’s our first true hybrid and it’s a really versatile device that gives us back-up and the ability to double-up on unattended production if needed.”
He said the 18-staff business was extremely busy, with referrals booming on the back of its service offering.
Digital Plus produces a diverse range of large-format visual and display graphics, and works for many long-standing clients including agencies, retailers and architects.
The new Ciervo arrives on 9 June and will replace the firm’s old Agfa Jeti Mira flatbed, which Brisk said had been a real workhorse for the business.
It joins another Agfa Anapurna roll-to-roll device, a Canon Arizona and an Epson solvent wide-format printer, alongside associated post-press kit.
At Fespa, Digital Plus also invested in a new JWEI cutter from CMYUK.
Digital Plus managing director Owen Russell commented: “The Anapurna Ciervo offers us a performance upgrade in terms of speed, productivity and its reduction in energy use being LED-curing based.
“It’s replacing one of our old machines and the service and support from Agfa has been excellent. The team is really excited about the install and with the DZIA design it’s certainly going to stand out in our press hall!”
He said the firm needed agility and versatility to respond to customers’ needs “and the Ciervo machine delivers on that front for us”.
“Combined with knowing that Agfa produce the equipment, inks, Asanti workflow software and provide strong service and support, we have complete peace of mind working with one reliable partner to help drive our business forward.”
Digital Plus was established in 1999. It has sales of around £1.8m and operates from a 929sqm facility.
Just ten of the limited edition Anapurna Ciervo devices will be available.
