MPB announces further carbonless price rises

Mitsubishi HiTec Paper has announced that it will be implementing a 5% price rise on its giroform carbonless reels.

The increase in reel price, which will take effect from 10 July, matches the firms increase in sheet prices earlier this year.

MPB HiTec Paper UK managing director Brian Garson said that following the success of the giroform sheet price increase, it was always likely that the reel price would also go up.

Other competitors have raised their prices already, he added. Arjowiggins made an announcement about its Idem carbonless paper and Koehler has done the same with its Reacto carbonless paper.

MPB HiTec claimed its Bielefeld mill had been facing an unsatisfactory yield situation, forcing the price increase. The company blamed this on the rising costs of raw materials, transport and energy.
