Mitsubishi HiTec Paper Europe to increase Giroform carbonless prices

Mitsubishi HiTec Paper Europe is to increase the price of its Giroform carbonless paper after it said it experienced a steady rise in costs.

The company will increase the cost of Giroform rolls and sheets worldwide by 5-7%, with the hike taking effect from 18 July.

A spokesman for the company said the move was due to the steady rise in costs for energy and raw materials.

He said: "This is the first worldwide increase in the price of Giroform carbonless papers that has been made this year.

"In view of the cost increases experienced in raw material and energy prices, this increase is very much needed."

Mitsubishi HiTec Paper Europe produces high-quality thermal papers (thermoscript), digital imaging papers (jetscript) and carbonless papers (giroform) at mills in Bielefeld and Flensburg.

It is a German subsidiary of Japan-based Mitsubishi Paper Mills, a manufacturer of speciality paper.
