ICL Imaging directors have staged a management buyout. The team is headed up by Martin Bone, Mark Goodfellow and Darrin Hatfield. The Birmingham-based company specialises in display printing, exhibition and photographic services.

Howard Hunt Group, the print and direct mail company, has completed its busiest quarter of its financial year, which ended in September. The Dartford-based firm produced a record 180m direct mail packs over the period. It also invested 4.5m in equipment during 2005.

B&B Press has been awarded environmental standard ISO 14001:2004. "We have held the international quality standard ISO 9001:2000 for the past four years and felt that it was now time to demonstrate our commitment to helping to protect the environment," said the firm's production director Nigel Tolley.

Paperstyle, the Manchester firm, has invested in a TharsternSQL MIS. "Having installed the latest Heidelberg CTP technology and press-match proofing system we chose to enhance our equipment portfolio further by adding a leading MIS to it," said managing director Mike Taylor.

 
Phillips Photographic has become the first UK company to install the Oc CS6100 wide-format ink-jet printer. The machine, a wider version of the CS6060, can print on material up to 2.64m wide at speeds of 16.3m per hour in four-pass mode. "Now we can produce better quality images on materials such as canvas, paper, PVC and mesh," said managing director Bill Humphreys.

Smith & Ouzman finance director Len Smith has retired from the Eastbourne firm after 41 years. He joined the company as a 15-year-old apprentice. Smith plans to spend more time working in his role as chairman of Eastbourne Borough Football Club.

Versamount has signed a distribution agreement with the Robert Horne Group. The company manufactures a polypropylene roll-up panel that can be printed on flatbed digital presses. Robert Horne joins Drytac as a joint exclusive distributor of Versamount in the UK.
