"We wouldn't invest in a large perfecting press without CutStar now. The investment pays for itself within a relatively short period," said managing director Simon Moore.
The sheeter is online to the 12-colour Speedmaster perfector the company ordered at Drupa, which replaced a three-year-old model in August. The new press is one of two long-perfecting Speedmasters with CutStar at the Kettering-based firm.
"A big advantage of the Cutstar is the fact that cut-off lengths can be varied to suit," said Moore (pictured). "This saves a great deal of material, enabling sheetfed to compete with web for certain jobs with higher runs."
Earlier in the summer the firm added a 750,000 Scheffer Inline finishing line to boost the productivity of its M600 16pp web press.
The CutStar was launched in 2000, and nearly a quarter of the 100 units sold worldwide have been installed in the UK.
