Duplo eyes short-run digital with automatic creaser

Duplo is targeting short-run digital printers with its new creasing model, the DC-445 DuCreaser, which it claimed helps eliminate toner cracking on digitally printed work.

The fully automatic kit is also suitable for finishing offset-printed cards and laminated stock as well as flyers, brochures, greeting cards and CD/DVD covers.

The DuCreaser is capable of applying up to 15 creases in a single pass, which Duplo said provided an economical match for 30-80ppm digital printers.

It can reach speeds of 50 sheets per minute when providing a single crease for A4 short-edge feed work.

The DC-445 features an automatic belt suction feeder, which ensures consistent and mark free delivery of sheets of up to 350gsm.

Crease positions on the kit can be adjusted in 0.1mm increments with a tolerance of +/- 0.3mm.

Duplo International head of product marketing Sally Dobinson said the DC-445 was "the ideal solution for printers that want to maximise their digital print capabilities but also have to meet budgetary constraints".
