The Anton Group has spent 6m on relocating the company to a single site near Brentwood, Essex, and on an array of new kit.
The Group, now housed at the Hutton site previously occupied by Clifford Thames printing, spent 400,000 on improvements to the 5,000sq/m of buildings.
A new 10-colour Heidelberg Speedmaster 102 is in position, as well as two new two-colour 102s.They join the firms existing four, five and six-colour Heidelberg machines and five and six-colour Mitsubishi presses.
Chief executive John Knight said that the company had become more streamlined and productive since its five Essex-wide premises were brought under the one roof in May.
He said: Its made a terrific difference to the amount of work that we can get out. We used to have vans going internally from our repro house in Basildon to the print shop in Romford.
The firm also has invested 2m in pre-press kit, including two new Agfa Galileo platesetters which have joined three Agfa Avantra imagesetters. It is also looking to add a third Galileo in the Autumn.
We can now produce 400 plates in 24 hours, said Knight. This output feeds the companys potential capacity of 200 press hours per day.
The Anton Group specialises in direct marketing as well as overnight printing for the City. It has 188 employees and a turnaround of 30m.
