Jarrold leaves Wyndeham to set up new firm eyeing cross-media opportunities

Charles Jarrold has left Wyndeham Press Group in order to set up his own new venture, but will continue to work with the Walstead Investments-owned business on a partnership basis.

Jarrold was most recently managing director of the St Ives web offset businesses acquired by Walstead in April. Prior to that he was managing director of Southernprint, but resigned after it was acquired by Walstead in July 2009.

He has set up a new company, Jarrold Media, and intends to work with clients on ‘beyond print’ projects including targeted multi-channel media applications, and augmented reality.

"There’s a whole world of print that goes way beyond what we think about every day, and is dynamic and growing," stated Jarrold, who has come to a partnership agreement with Wyndeham that will see him continuing to work with the group and its customers.

"I think there’s a unique opportunity to help publishers and commercial organisations benefit from the transformation in communication technologies that’s going on," he added.

Wyndeham chief executive Paul Utting praised Jarrold’s client and industry know-how, and said he was "well placed" to work with the group on complementary media services.
