EBB Manchester begins trading

Elliott Baxters (EBB) 10th branch in Manchester went live on 1 March and is just the next phase in EBBs longer-term plans, according to the merchant.

David Tennent, director for the firm’s northern branches, said that the new site has what it takes to become “a major player in the region.”

He added: “We want to provide customers with peace of mind at every stage of the process. We certainly do not believe in dictating what we think is best for the customers.”

The branch, which has 20 staff, will initially serve the north west region and Sheffield.

Director Andrew Whitworth said: “After seeing the trade change over the years to become dominated by large conglomerates, it’s particularly satisfying to be working for what definitely feels like a family company.”

EBB Manchester’s 2,300sqm of warehouse space in Trafford Park holds a stock capacity of around 2,500 tonnes. This allows deliveries in excess of 200 tonnes per day.

EBB managing director Tim Elliott said: “This is a very exciting time for all at EBB, and demonstrates our commitment to offering a genuine alternative to our major competitors on a nationwide scale.”
