Web offset printer starts consultation over 45 jobs at Lancashire site

The G&H Group has entered into a 30-day consultation process with the 45 staff at its web offset factory in Chorley, Lancashire.

The company, which specialises in direct mail, sheetfed and web offset printing, confirmed that negotiations had begun with staff at the Chorley North Industrial Park division.

Managing director and owner Dave Hatton said the long-term plan is to move the production of web offset print into one factory.

G&H has a second web offset factory in Liverpool, which has an additional 45 staff.

The company claimed that the two sites made it the largest web offset printer in the North West of England.

Its Chorley facility operates two Komori 8pp web presses, which are supplemented by in-house print finishing kit that specialises in leaflet and cut and pack work.

During 2007, the company completed a reorganisation of its divisions and rebranded them from Gask and Hawley to the G&H banner.
