Komori has appointed Steve Turner to the newly created post of northern general sales manager in a revamp of its senior sales structure.
Turner, formerly international sales director of sheetfed presses for Sondhi Kellar, will take charge of sales in Ireland, Scotland and the north of England.
The move mirrors the creation of a southern general sales manager role two years ago. Neil Sutton works out of the Swindon office; both he and Turner lead sales teams and report directly to managing director Martin Rickards.
Komori insisted that Turner was not a direct replacement for area sales manager Ian McLeod, who left to join Goss in November 2000.
Turner's is a more senior role, said head of marketing Philip Dunn. "Steve will have responsibility for making decisions."
He will manage the company's relationship with its Irish agents - Portman Graphics in the south and John Hunter Print Machinery in the north.
Turner, rather than Rickards, will act as first point of contact for both firms.
According to Dunn, the changes were the result of a 60% increase in sales compared to five years ago.
