Strike action was due to begin on Saturday over the rejection of a 3% pay increase offer for workers at the print works, which prints the Sunday Post among other titles.
However, Norman King of Unite confirmed that action had been suspended due to ongoing talks. He added that he remained hopeful of a resolution.
The union remains in talks with the company at a local level with a further meeting arranged for 13 August.
Ian Lamb, editorial manager at DC Thomson, said that the issue was "a private matter between the company and its staff".
