PrintWeek understands staff will take industrial action following the rejection of a 3% pay deal. It is believed the employees are aggrieved that a subsidiary company will receive a 3.5% pay deal.
The strike is scheduled to take place at the local newspapers division, which prints central and eastern Scotland paper The Courier, among other titles.
Norman King of Unite said: "A strike is a last resort. We are meeting with management on Wednesday and are hopeful for a resolution to avoid strike action."
DC Thomson declined to comment when contacted by PrintWeek.
