The MAG-In system, which is made by German company WSD, incorporates die-cutting tools that can be placed on a magnetic foil.
The magnetic foil is fitted with clamping bars onto the blanket cylinder, along with the packing thickness, while the impression cylinder is shielded with a protective plastic film.
MAN Roland Great Britain's sales director for sheetfed and finishing products, Roger Cartwright, said: "We showed it at Ipex and it received a lot of interest. The main advantage of the magnetic strip system is that its easy to take on and off."
MAG-In can be fitted to MAN Roland's R500 and R700 presses, on which it can handle a maximum stock thickness of 0.3mm. Running on the R200 and R300 ranges, it can handle up to 0.22mm thickness.
