The company said that Prism WIN Express was a rapid deploy version of its Prism WIN product the first ever Windows-based MIS.
Prism Europe general manager David Dunbavand said that the latest version was designed for printers who might be daunted by the installation time required for high-level MIS packages.
Such an installation can be quite disruptive to the day-to-day running of a print business. With WIN express we are providing a product that can be up an running in a short space of time, said Dunbavand.
WIN Express also allows for expansion in the future and there are 300 installations of the software worldwide.
Prism expects that there will three types of customers. Firstly, companies whose needs will be met by the off-the-shelf package. The second group, it believes, will install the software and then identify modifications to the system six months to a year later.
Then, lastly, there will be larger businesses who need detailed and customer specific MIS from the beginning.
After its launch at MIS 2004 Prism WIN Express will be launched in the US and Australia.
