It is intended for printers of between 6m to 20m turnover and sits between Prisms top-end WIN package and Enterprise, aimed at smaller printers.
Before we had sophistication and price but not in one package, said European sales executive Darryl Gillard.
Express will take a company between two to four months to get up to speed compared to the nine to 12 months needed with WIN. It lacks the full customisation of WIN out of the box, but Prism believes customers will use it as a starting point to customise it once early use has pinpointed areas of the business to focus on.
These companies dont have time to focus on the needs of their MIS, Gillard said. They may not know where their strengths and weaknesses lie. Let them have the data for six months and they can see.
Prism Express costs 35,000 for a complete system.
Other launches at the show included a new version of EFIs PrintSmith MIS for quick printers, which has a new interface and tighter integration between estimating, invoicing and costing. The firm is also working to integrate similar features into its other MIS products to give larger printers tools better suited to administrating digital print.
