Print.uk.com wins five-year Navtech contract

Print.uk.com has secured a five-year contract with Ontario, Canada-based aeronautics business Navtech to print and supply flight documentation for its airline customers across a number of UK airports.

Slough-based Print.uk.com, which is owned by CFH Docmail, will supply updated versions of terminal and aviation charts, as well as essential documentation for pilots, to the flight decks of the airlines every fortnight.

The documents, including maps, flight paths, navigational charts and details of airports and terminals, are a mandatory requirement for commercial airlines.

The contract will require Print.uk.com to produce more than 50m documents each year, significantly increasing its output, and supply them within strict deadlines.

According to Print.uk.com, the contract win has required significant investment in printing kit and software, staffing, and reconfiguring its warehousing facilities.

Managing director Jon Marsh said: “Over the last six months, we have been preparing for this contract, effectively doubling our capacity in order to facilitate the volumes this contract requires, and streamlining our logistics operations.  We are confident of our capabilities and are relishing the opportunity of working with a leading player in the aeronautical industry.”

Navtech, which has its UK base near to Print.uk.com in Walton on Thames, provides navigational software and documents to 350m airlines and aviation service customers globally.
