Double Printweek Award winner Precision Card Services has picked up another accolade after being named one of the best places to work in the UK by The Sunday Times.

The newspaper carried out the survey with employee experience platform WorkL.

Macclesfield-based Precision Card Services specialises in the production of cards that are used for gifting, loyalty and membership programmes, and by hotels.

It was lauded in the small business category of the awards scheme, for firms with 10-49 employees, and was the only printing business to feature.

PCS: committed to creating a positive and supportive work environment

Precision Card Services employees praised the business for its “strong leadership, employee empowerment, and overall happiness”, and gave the business a perfect score of zero regarding any staff concerns about wellbeing in the workplace.

The firm also garnered high marks for job satisfaction, reward and recognition, and its approach to environmental sustainability.

Managing director Adam Unsworth said the fact that the citation was based on feedback from the firm’s own team “makes this accolade even more rewarding”.

“We are committed to providing our customers with the best possible service whilst creating a positive and supportive work environment where our employees can thrive, and it was great to see the anonymous feedback scores were well above average for the industry,” he said.

Unsworth told Printweek: “We are going out for a collective celebration in June to mark this achievement and the end of our financial year.

“As the old adage says, ‘if the company looks after the people, the people look after the company’. It's so pleasing to have been recognised.”

Precision Card Services is Printweek’s reigning SME of the Year, and also won an Innovation of the Year gong for its work in developing a fully recycled, and recyclable, PVC card.

Marketing agency AKA Promotions, marketing technology firm Flixmedia, and digital out-of-home specialist VIOOH were among the other winners.
