He takes over the vacant board position left by Chris Pavlosky, who left Polestar at the beginning of this year.
The role of BPIF vice president, which Pavlosky occupied, will remain unfilled however, and will be discussed at the BPIFs National Council later this year.
It also means that Hibbert will relinquish his role on the board of industry forum Vision in Print, where he is set to be replaced by Polestars operations director for manufacturing Mike Bartlett.
Hibbert said: In the past three years the BPIF has taken tremendous strides in terms of the real value for money of its membership services and the strategic role that it is playing within the industry.
It is my personal objective to convince other non-member companies of the undoubted benefits that BPIF membership can bring.
