PETF hails Skill City event a success

The Print Education Training Forum attracted more than 3,500 visitors to its stand at last weeks Skill City event in London Docklands.

School children, students and teachers visited the stand, which was manned by representatives from Polestar, PrintIT!, the BPIF and Canon. They watched large-format posters being produced live and took part in a wide variety of activities and competitions aimed to increase their understanding of print.

"There are 3,500 more young people out there who know at least something about the printing industry, which they didn't last Tuesday," said PETF interim chief executive Richard Bloxham.

The PETF operation will become part of ProSkills from the 1 August, after it was granted a Sector Skills Council licence last week.
