Suppliers have reported a brisk trade in Harrogate during the 2001 Northprint show.
Litho Supplies claimed it had taken orders worth several hundred thousand pounds on the first day of the show (Tuesday).,br>
Although visitors to the stand have been from all over the UK, the orders have mainly been from Northern-based companies which is what we were expecting, said sales director Eddie Williams.
Indigo sold two presses on Tuesday, both to Northern-based companies. Weve sold an UltraStream to MDA and a TurboStream to Ashmiller, who are both new customers, said marketing executive Paul Randall.
Other deals sealed at the show include the 100th Quickmaster DI sale by Heidelberg to an unnamed buyer. It also sold a Speedmaster 74 DI to Colour Network in Glasgow.
CreoScitex sold two new Lotem 400 CTP systems on the first day and Optichrome sold an Optimus 2020 MIS to Bishop-Auckland based printer Hillprint.
Northprint ran from 24-26 April in Harrogate.
