Navigator GPS workflow to 'boost' Heidelberg DI productivity

Users of Heidelberg's DI press could be in line for a productivity boost, according to RIP management and workflow software developer Xitron, following the launch of version 8 of its Navigator GPS workflow.

US-based Xitron, which published the software upgrade last week, has announced a raft of new features, including native support for PDF 1.7 and XPS 1.0 through Global Graphics' updated Harlequin RIP technology.

Xitron president and chief executive officer Mark Eisenschenk said: "Navigator GPS provides a significant boost in productivity through automation and ease-of-use, which translates to increased profitability in print shops using the DI press."

The upgrade is available through Xitron's dealer and distributor network worldwide, priced from $10,000 (£6,730).

Navigator RIP Manager includes job management, soft proofing and RIP feedback to pre-press operator workstations.

In addition, the PDF tools option now incorporates the latest Enfocus PitStop library within the preflighting module.
