Mimaki launches dual-function textile printer

Mimaki has extended its range of textile printers with a large-format machine capable of direct-to-textile and dye-sublimation production.

"The Tx400-1800D is a revolutionary development in uniting dye-sublimation and direct-to-textile printing in one machine," said Mimaki Textile & Apparel business unit manager Kazuhide Yokoyama.

Applications for the machine include garment printing, including sports wear and soft signage.

It has a tool for adjusting the ink volume according to the type of textile and the design. Other features of the 1.86m-wide machine include bulk ink supply and Mimaki's uninterrupted ink supply system.

Dye-sub, reactive dye and acid dye ink types can be used with the 10-colour machine. The new dye-sub ink is claimed to offer a sharper image.

It will be available in Europe from February.
