Mutoh offers direct-to-textile ink

Mutoh has launched an ink for printing directly onto polyester as an alternative to dye sublimation for soft signage and double-sided flag applications.

The direct disperse inks are water-based and have no harmful VOC content.

UV-resistance is claimed to offer one-year's outdoor durability, and the inks are also water and perspiration resistant.

Like dye sublimation, the direct disperse inks need to be heat fixed, which can be done using a pressure free heater or a calendar.

The inks are available in one-litre bottles and are compatible with Mutoh’s BIS high-volume ink delivery system. Mutoh printers that can use the new inks include the Viper, Viper Extreme and Viper TX Extreme.
