This includes Canon's machines for Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) applications.

The tie-up will allow the Norfolk-based company to sell the imagePrograf iPF610, iPF710 and iPF720 models through its IT channels.

The agreement builds upon a previous relationship to sell Canon's document scanners and Canon Consumer Imaging machines.

Alex Ward, commercial director at Midwich, said the company was "delighted" to add the Canon imagePrograf range to its portfolio.

Ward added: "Both Canon and Midwich recognise that the IT sectors represented an untapped market for this kind of equipment, and we will be using our channels and expertise to promote the range as strongly as possible."
