Fujifilm previewed the new Revoria models at Drupa and they were officially launched at the beginning of the year.
Kall Kwik WGC bought the press from Digital Printing Systems UK following a recommendation from Kall Kwik’s head office.
Installation and training was completed last week and the new press is now fully up and running.
Centre owner Phil Beverley said it was the culmination of an 18-month investment programme at the business, which has boosted its ability to handle more work entirely in-house.
“We’d been looking at the digital press market for around 12 months, and I was really impressed with the Revoria, it really fits the bill,” he said.
The EC2100S prints at up to 100ppm and has an additional toner station for five-colour printing using a choice of special colours, including gold and silver.
Beverley said it would greatly enhance the firm’s production capabilities.
An older Xerox printer has been taken out, and the Revoria will run alongside an existing Versant 280 and wide-format printing kit.
The investment programme has also increased its post-press capabilities.
It brought perfect binding in-house with a Duplo DB-290 last year.
“We also put in a Matrix laminator at the end of last year, and a Duplo 446 automatic creaser,” Beverley added.
“We used to outsource a lot of deep bookletmaking, especially if it was a larger order, but now we’re doing most of it in-house. The Revoria is a faster press but also better quality and we were all amazed by how much the fifth colour adds to the actual quality when we saw that.”
The five-strong firm has sales of around £350,000-£400,000.
He praised the help and support available from the Kall Kwik network, which is part of multi-brand franchise operator XplorerGroup.
