Manugraph Cityline Express web-offset presses installed in Brazil

Manugraph, a popular Indian manufacturer of web-offset presses in the country, has strengthened its position in the overseas market with installations of its Cityline Express at Brazil-based print firms like like Cruzeiro Do Sul, Sorocaba; Omega Publicidade; Empresa Baiana: Corrio Bahia Group, Salvador and Ejorna Brazil, Macia.

Sanat Shah, chairman of Manugraph said: "Cityline is a perfect match for the Brazilian Market. This compact web-offset press has been the  right answer to the rapidly changing market conditions in the newspaper industry. Most newspaper printers who have experienced its action for the first time are stunned by its performance and continue to book repeated orders of the same, either as additional press lines or add-on towers."

The above Brazilian companies opted of different configurations of Cityline Express according to the needs of the market they cater to. This is what the representatives of these companies had to say about the press.

Cruzeiro Do Sul: "The quality and output of the product will help us create new clients. The operation of the machine with a configuration of four towers, two F2:2:2 folders with balloon formers and one third fold is around eight hours daily, printing various types of supplement jobs of two, four, six, eight pages of broadsheet and tabloid sizes. However, the main edition consists a total of 16 pages broadsheet and has a circulation of around 70,000 copies daily."

Empresa Baiana: Corrio Bahia Group: "With a configuration of 5 towers , 2 folders ( 2:2:2, 1:2:2) , three stacked unwind, the press meets our demands of circulation 65,000 copies of daily newspaper with three to four types of the supplements. Including the supplement the daily output is 1,50,000 copies. With increasing demands there we plan for a configuration of four towers, four autopasters with two folders."

Ejorna Brazil, Macia "The strength of Manugraph has always been customising products that best fit our requirements. The final configuration after adding on to the press installed in 2008 is mono unit, three towers, one folder F2:2:2 with Quarter Fold"

Omega Publicidade : "We are planning to venture into job printing apart from newspaper printing, the circulation of which is pretty low. We have opted for Cityline Express with configuration of Mono unit with integrated unwind , 1 folder 1:2:2, 1 Tower with Standalone Unwind."

In an interview with PrintWeek India in May 2011, Shah had provided an overview of the emerging markets for Manugraph: "The whole of Africa has potential. Then there is Brazil, Columbia, Indonesia and Malaysia. Hopefully, CIS countries like Russia which is developing will be good for the print manufacturing industry."
