Lick UK in administration

Direct mail company Lick UK, which traded as Lick Group, has gone into administration.

A spokeswoman for insolvency practitioner BWC Business Solutions confirmed that it was appointed as administrator on 7 April 2010, but she said that no official statement would be made at this time.

Lick UK director Linden Kitson would not confirm the company's situation to PrintWeek, stating that he was under a legal obligation not to discuss the situation.

On the company's website its corporate information changed today (9 April) from Lick (UK) Ltd to Lick Group Ltd.

Kitson has been a director at Lick Group since it was incorporated on 28 August 2008. The company filed dormant accounts on 10 December 2009.

Andrew Brown, who was group operations director at Lick UK, was appointed as a director at Lick Group on 16 March 2010.

According to PrintWeek's 2009 top 500, Lick UK had a turnover of £3.7m and employed 72 staff.

The group also includes Lick Online, Lick Direct and Lick Agency, although it is currently unclear whether they are affected.

Subsidiary Lick Digital which claimed to be Yorkshire's largest digital print company in December last year when it acquired Topcopy, is not affected according to Kitson.
