KPG adds RealTimeProof partners

KPG extended its dominance in remote and soft proofing at Drupa, signing up further partners for its RealTimeProof technology.

Artwork Systems and asset management specialist Northmann both concluded deals at the show.

Northmann vice president of sales and distribution David Smith said that many of its customers had requested an interface with RealTimeProof for viewing and approving assets online.

Artwork Systems will initially run a private label site offering RealTimeProof as an ASP to its clients and in time will integrate the software into its Nexus packaging and Odystar commercial print workflows.

The deals follow on from the firm signing deals with EFI and Heidelberg to use RealTimeProof technology in their workflows.

KPG also showed a new version of its Virtual Matchprint soft proofer, which is based on RealTimeProof with additional colour management.

Matchprint Virtual Desktop uses LCD screens rather than a CRT and doesnt need the viewing booth conditions of the bigger system. The firm has already had interest from repro houses that want to cut out hard copy proofing during colour retouch.

KPG was also showing its Colour Fidelity System end-to-end colour management workflow. This combines tools to calibrate and ICC profile any digital camera, Matchprint Virtual Desktop for viewing and editing and Matchflow Composer for converting documents between colourspaces.

The firm has been talking to the PPA about using elements of the technology for pic4press, its ongoing digital image quality management project.
