Kiian Digital set to launch new industrial ink

Kiian Digital will launch a new industrial ink series designed for Panasonic printheads later this week.

Digistar Sublisonic is a dye-sublimation transfer ink portfolio, compatible with Panasonic printheads. The new range has bright colours, which enable a wide colour gamut, and dry quickly, optimising production time, the company said.

Kiian Digital marketing specialist Marco Girola said: “Different printheads demand different inks. To ensure our customers have the flexibility to utilise different technologies, Kiian Digital responds to this market requirement providing its customers the best inks for each printhead.”

The inks will be shown for the first time at SGIA 2015 in Atlanta, US, later this week, from which point they will be commercially available immediately. Girola said the cost of the inks will be “in line with other sublimation inks”.

The company will also show its range of water-based inks for Epson printheads at SGIA 2015, including the Digistar Hi-Pro dye-sublimation transfer ink, which the firm said prints onto light-coated and low-coated papers at high speeds with reliable output.

The Digistar Hi-Pro range now includes blue and orange to increase the number of colours that can be reproduced. The new colours were originally launched at Fespa in Cologne, Germany, in May.

Looking forward to Fespa Digital 2016, which will take place in Amsterdam in March, the business said it will adopt a more general focus, and plans to show Panasonic and Epson inks as well as inks for Kyocera, Ricoh and Konica Minolta printheads.

“We would like to widen the gamut in terms of solutions for different printheads and we would like to bring another view in sublimation so we may put more attention on pigment inks next year,” said Girola.

Kiian Digital is a JK Group brand. JK Group recently announced it is set to be acquired by Dover Engineering Systems (DES), a business segment of global manufacturer Dover Corporation. The group will operate as a standalone operating company within the DES Printing and Identification platform.

JK Group managing director Alberto De Matthaeis said: “JK Group continues to maintain a well-earned reputation for customer service and technological advancement in the digital textile market, and we believe our acquisition by Dover will only strengthen our position and capabilities on a global scale.

“JK Group and Dover share a common goal to accelerate the growth in the textile digital printing market and bring world-class digital printing ink solutions to our customers.”
