J&G secures KM Group contract

Print-specific waste management company J&G Environmental has landed a significant contract with the KM Group, providing a further boost to its ever-growing customer base.

The one-year rolling contract is a major coup for Blandford-based J&G, as KM Group owns a portfolio of more than 30 newspapers, including the largest-selling weekly newspaper in the UK, the Kent Messenger, as well as nine niche publications and eight websites.

J&G Environmental will collect and recycle or dispose of all waste from the company’s headquarters and print site in Aylesbury, as well as 16 satellite sites around Kent.

Paul Harfleet, KM Group purchasing manager, said: “We look to choose suppliers, like J & G, whose environmental credentials effectively demonstrate their commitment to helping ensure a greener future.

“Since working with J & G, we have been very impressed by the high level of service they provide at all levels. With J & G’s help, we now have a waste management system in place that ensures we have a record of exactly what is happening to our waste streams.”

Hazardous waste, pallets, aluminium cans and polywrap will all be collected under the terms of the deal, as will electronic waste, which J & G will dispose of in compliance with Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) regulations.
