The Epson Everywhere Ipex programme continues to grow, with the announcement that a number of firms will show Epson technology on their stands. Firms will include Agfa, Kodak, Heidelberg, GMG, TPT and Chinese software developer Beijing Founder Electronics.

Potts Printers managing director Shaun Currie and TNT prizewinner Martyn Young presented a cheque for 1,500 to Andrea Atkinson of the Tiny Lives appeal for special care babies, which is based at the RVI in Newcastle Upon Tyne. This follows Potts' raffle in aid of the Tiny Lives charity, which was supported by staff, customers and suppliers.

Bluetree Design and Print has won the McNaughton screen, display and point of sale award, at a ceremony held in Venice on 11 March. The judges described the winning piece, titled Berghaus Bugs, as "clean, crisp and colourful". The award was accepted by Bluetree's representative, general manager Ron O'Brien.

Label Connections will have some of its product ranges on view on a number of major stands at Ipex. Polyester cling labels will be on the Kodak stand, PCL3 digital CD labels will be running on HP Indigo presses, while Danwood will run PCL3 digital wine labels. Oc will also show examples of the firm's technology.

Sterling Graphic Equipment has appointed David Oddie as managing director of the Wakefield-based print machinery supplier. Oddie has over 20 years' industry experience and was formerly managing director of West Yorkshire magazine printer Linard Web.

David Hirst, Pharmaceutical Packaging Leeds production manager, has been named by Leeds College of Technology as the most meritorious level two student. Hirst is undertaking the Impress degree in printing, packaging and graphics at Leeds, and has worked for PPL since 1998.
