Husband joins Vertis Leicester

Vertis has appointed former K2 Direct sales and marketing director Richard Husband as managing director of its Leicester operation.

Husband left Manchester-based K2 in February after an irreconcilable difference of opinion regarding company policy (PrintWeek, 28 February). He had been at the direct mail printer for 13 years and was set to head up its new business venture, Link2.

His appointment comes as Vertis parts company with the sales director of its Croydon site, Andy Ruddle, who had been with the firm for 14 years.

Ruddle will take six months gardening leave from the end of July, but due to contractual obligations he couldnt confirm his plans. It has been very amicable, but its time for change. I was involved in the set up of Olwen Direct Mail [in 1990] so it will be very sad.

A spokeswoman said: Andy is leaving to pursue other interests and Vertis wishes him the best of luck. He was very valued and an integral part of the team.

Husbands newly created role at Vertis Leicester will focus on the long-term development of the firm. Linda Scott, who was made general manager of Vertis Croydon in May (PrintWeek, 9 May), now becomes managing director of that site.
