Print and mailing company FDM has followed its appointment last month of a new managing director by taking on a new elections project manager.

Former democratic services manager at Adare, Peter Clitheroe joined Canning Town, London-based FDM at the end of June.

The business told Printweek Clitheroe’s role had been developed to reflect his “industry-leading expertise, and to support the growing number of clients that rely on FDM for electoral services”.

Clitheroe holds the Association of Electoral Administrators (AEA) Certificate in Electoral Administration and is active at a branch, national, Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC), and Cabinet Office level in shaping the future of the UK electoral services.

Following nine years in his previous role, and with more than 25 years’ experience working for major customer communications management companies in the UK, FDM said Clitheroe “brings specialist insight in relation to election services solutions”.

Clitheroe said: “I have experience of working with some of the senior leadership team members at FDM, so having the opportunity to do so again really appealed to me. Knowing the team here are all working towards the same goal makes a huge difference.

“I’ve worked in election services solutions for years now and want to use that knowledge to extend the partnerships we have. It is more than just winning work; it’s understanding the intricacies that come with these contracts and being the trusted supplier to deliver time and again.”

Richard Farmer, who has just been appointed managing director of FDM, added: “I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Peter to the team. I know first-hand what experience he has and the approach that he takes with his customers.

“His skills and contacts perfectly complement those we have in the business, and I can see how this will have a positive impact as we look to evolve the company and FDM starts the next chapter in its 30-year story.”
