Farmer: perfect time to take the next step
Farmer: perfect time to take the next step

Richard Farmer has been appointed managing director at print and mailing company FDM.

Most recently sales and marketing director at Communisis, Farmer started in his new role on 19 June.

With more than 20 years’ experience in senior leadership and board director positions in omni-channel communications, business process outsourcing, and print management, Farmer has worked for clients in local government, financial services, mass transit, the NHS, and major retail brands including P&G, Johnson & Johnson, Nestle, Bacardi, BT, EE, and Sony.

“When approached by FDM I knew it was the perfect time to take the next step in my career and to do so leading a company that has built an enviable reputation over an impressive 30 year history.” said Farmer.

“I have been aware of FDM for several years and have watched how the business has evolved during that time. Leading this hugely experienced team is a real privilege and I’m looking forward to getting to know our customers and to extending our service offering so we can add even more value as a supplier they can trust.”

Farmer has not replaced anyone directly; FDM was acquired by Owner Venture Managers from its founder, Jim Fletcher, in 2021. Since then, and as planned, Fletcher has gradually reduced the time he spends in the business and has now passed all responsibility to Farmer and his experienced leadership team. Fletcher now dedicates his time to family and his joy of sailing.

Based in Canning Town, London, FDM was founded in 1993.
