Dantex has launched a new flexo CTP plate that cuts the number of steps involved in platemaking.
The Toreelaser photopolymer plate is suitable for CO2 laser engraving and is based on Torays water washable photopolymer plates for flexo presses.
It is claimed to be the first direct CTP photopolymer flexo plate, as there is no need for post imaging UV exposure and processing, just a water wash.
"Laser engraving has been around for ages but has been confined to rubber plates," said Geoff Clinton, general manager at ZED Instruments, which makes laser engravers.
Dantex claims the new plate is unique in its ability to work with UV, water-based and solvent inks, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.
