Dantex has been appointed to sell a RIP and workflow system designed specifically for label production in the UK.
The LabelRIP, developed by US company RIPit, handles step-and-repeat and distortion for compensating for flexo plates automatically, producing a plate-ready film from a single artwork file.
"Everyone whos seen it has been really taken aback," said Dantex managing director Jerry Danon.
"The beauty is that it applies distortion automatically. Its very productive."
The firm, which has been concentrating on flexo since it sold its litho side to Openshaw, sees the LabelRIP as having applications beyond labels in packaging and other flexo applications.
It can drive a wide range of imagesetters including Agfa and ECRM machines.
The system, including workstation, costs 18,000.
