Cooper Clegg to print new Condé Nast monthly

Condé Nast has awarded the print contract for Easy Living, which is due to launch next spring, to Cooper Clegg.

The first issue, to be printed in February, will have a print run of at least 600,000 and is expected to be 280pp.

Cooper Clegg managing director Ian Cooper said that the firm's use of "two-around" 32pp Komori webs was a big factor in winning the contract. He said that for high-quality magazines "two-around" was better than using the "four-around" configuration of the latest 64pp webs.

"Condé Nast goes to extraordinary lengths on quality control," said Cooper. "Quality is easier to control on two-around."

Cooper Clegg had printed Glamour for Cond Nast when the UK edition switched to gravure and moved to the Continent. "Losing Glamour was a blow but we were comforted by the knowledge that this was not due to any failings in our quality or service levels," said Cooper Clegg sales director David Heine.

"Condé Nast has reaffirmed its confidence in us with what is likely to be one of the biggest consumer magazine launches of 2005."
