Q&A: Krista Brown, office manager, Crestline Printers

Krista is 28 and has worked in the industry for 10 years. She’s getting married in June and lives near Derby with her partner and cat Bubbles.

What is your nickname? 

I get called Chief in the factory

Why did you get into printing? 

I fell into it by chance after leaving school and having started off in pre-press/customer services, gradually moved into the management side

What would be your dream job? 

If I wasn’t in printing, I always wanted to do something medical or scientific-based, like radiography

Who would play you in a movie about your life? 

My friends would probably say someone like Melissa McCarthy as I’m a bit nuts sometimes

What is your dream bit of kit? 

Kit Harrington (ha-ha)

What would you most like to print? 

A glossy high-end celeb magazine

Sweet or savoury? 

Savoury. Starter over dessert every time

Who do you admire most in the industry? 

James Turner, our MD at Crestline. For his 100% commitment to driving the business forward and making it such a fun and happy place for all of us to work

Cat or dog, or…? 

Cat definitely. I’m what they call a crazy cat lady – my cat is my baby

What is the strangest job you’ve ever done? 

We printed a nude calendar featuring the men from a local rugby club for charity once, which was certainly different

Who would you like to be stuck on a desert island with? 

Bear Grylls – he’d know what to do

Who or what makes you laugh? 

The fabulous office girls at Crestline with their constant banter

Which superpower would you like? 

The power to stop time for when we have super-tight deadlines

Where would you go if you could time-travel?

Back to the 1920s for all the glamorous parties and fancy clothes

Life is…? 

Not always the party we hoped for, but while we’re here we might as well dance
