Q&A: Victoria Hart Managing director, Print Search

Victoria is 39 years-old and married with two daughters. Her husband Kevin is production director at Aspen, which is also part of the DCB Group along with Print Search and Caspa. She’s worked in print for a decade after working in supply chain and marketing at Co-op Retail.

Victoria doesn’t have much spare time but says: “As a family we enjoy hill walking. To switch off and relax after a busy day I either take the dog on a long walk or enjoy a G ‘n’ T!”

What is your nickname?

I get called Vix, Fazzler (stemming from my maiden name Farrell) or simply V

Why did you get into printing?

I fell into it to be honest, a role came up for an account manager at Print and I thought I would apply – I never expected to get it and when I did I just immersed myself into print and spent a lot of time at printers to ensure I understood the basics and the process overall so could speak with conviction to my client. Over the last 10 years I have progressed through the company and became managing director three years ago

For me it would be lithographic print that has not had enough care and attention on press – i.e. if registration, vibrancy or colour match is neglected

What advice would you give to your teenage self?

Do not waste time on overthinking things that have happened, everyone else has most likely forgotten it soon after it happened and no good comes from replaying things over and over again. Let things go, learn from them and move on.
