Douglas has been working in print one way or another since leaving school in 1988. He’s also club secretary of Hillsborough Pumas JFC in Sheffield, and manages the U15 side. He’s married with two children: Cameron and Kirsty.

Why did you get into printing?

I did an apprenticeship straight out of school at 16, could have done an electrician’s apprenticeship, but didn’t fancy the three-month residential part of that. So I became a printer instead

When Steven Gerrard departs Rangers, I’m available!

Who would play you in a movie about your life?

Danny DeVito

What would you most like to print?

Having spent a few years looking after Manchester United’s match programme along with the England & UEFA final programmes, I wouldn’t mind looking after the Rangers programme

What is your favourite film?

Kelly’s Heroes

Who do you admire most in the industry?

Patrick Crean. What a transformation at Paragon even in my few years here

What is your favourite phrase or saying?

‘No problem’

Raintown by Deacon Blue

What is your favourite book?

You’ll Never Walk by Andy Grant. It’s inspirational stuff

What is your greatest luxury in life?

My Rangers season ticket

What’s your greatest fear?

Redundancy. I’ve had a couple of experiences over the years. Not nice

Which celebrity would you like to get out of here? Why?

Can think of a few MPs who should be voted out

Where would you like to be right now?

Vancouver

What’s your worst fashion disaster?

My sleeveless cardigan back in my Harper Collins days was much maligned. I still maintain it’s a timeless classic

ESP

My family

Where would you go if you could time-travel?

Go forward a year or two and see who else Paragon acquires

What was your childhood obsession?

Rangers FC. (It’s got worse as I’ve got older and is now shared with my son)

What is the worst kind of print?

Anything from HMRC

What was the best business deal that you’ve pulled off?

My wife was one of my customers in the past. Did very well in that one

What advice would you give to your teenage self?

Don’t drink so much Irn Bru
