Post Script: Geerings boss to run gruelling London race

For many of us, the Christmas period was a time for festive indulgence - eating, drinking and spending a tad too much. So what better way to kick of 2011 than on a positive giving note by sponsoring Geerings Print managing director Nick Brisley to run the London Marathon?

Nick is set to run the 26-mile event, his debut full marathon, on 17 April in aid of the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity. He said: "We have a young lady, in her thirties, working for us in our pre-press department who was unfortunately diagnosed with breast cancer about six months ago.

"She has undergone chemotherapy and radiotherapy and is hopefully now on the road to recovery."

To prepare for the challenge, Nick has spent 2010 running half-marathons to ensure he is up to scratch come April.

"This has inspired me to give my support to Breakthrough Breast Cancer, who are committed to research, campaigning and education with the ultimate goal of eradicating breast cancer, which will affect one in nine females during their life," he added.
